Fall in St. Louis

St. Louis Fall is the season of gorgeous foliage, milder weather, and a variety of things to do. Don your cozy sweaters and woolen scarves, and go for a walk along the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers, where the trees change color and the breeze is crisp. There’s art, apples, beer while jamming to music, and fall festivals and events to experience. Fall is the most beautiful time of the year, and there’s never a dull week or weekend, so prepare beforehand by marking your favorite activities on your calendar.

The 4 Best Fall Activities in St. Louis

Boo at the Zoo

Boo at the Zoo makes no exceptions when it comes to being fun for the entire family despite being a kid-pleaser event. Held inside the Forest Park at the St. Louis Zoo, the event takes place during October’s second half. Get your costumes ready to go trick-or-treating at night and visit your family’s favorite zoo animals surrounded by festive decorations.

Wherever you turn, you’ll be met by activities and events open for participation, like arts and crafts, a haunted house, pumpkin painting, etc. The St.Louis Zoo contains six sections: Discovery Corner, Historic Hill, Lakeside Crossing, Red Rocks, River’s Edge, and the Wild. It is also a leading zoological center spanning around 90 acres of land and hosting 18,700 animals.

Renaissance Faire

Are you a fan of the medieval age? If yes, we have just the thing for you: the Renaissance Faire conducted by Mid-America Festivals in Wentzville. The Mid-America Festivals is a huge organization responsible for holding numerous events all over America- they have experience, so they know how to put on a show.

This event only runs for a month on the weekends, starting in mid-September and ending in mid-October. Don’t miss out on the food, games, Medieval Jousting, and an opportunity to meet the King and Queen. You can also sign up to participate in different contests, such as a mural contest, a fantasy mask contest, a fairy house competition, and a costume contest.

Hermann Oktoberfest

If there is one tradition the people of St. Louis and the Midwest love, it’s the Hermann Oktoberfest held every weekend in October. Gear up for the live music, beer, winery tours, German food, and much more at the Stone Hill Winery in Hermann. Not only does it occur in the most awaited season of the year, but the town is beautiful.

Frightfest

Who doesn’t love Six Flags? Well, wait until you discover the wonders of Frightfest at one of America’s popular amusement parks. While the park operates like usual during the day, the atmosphere set at night is creepy and displays all sorts of Halloween decorations and characters.

Explore scare zones and haunted houses with friends if you’re hoping to get spooked, and ride the rollercoasters in complete darkness to get your heart racing. The park also puts on special events that are live and spine-chilling. We recommend purchasing seasonal passes for thrill seekers so you can visit Frightfest more than once.
