It’s no surprise that Oklahoma City is a Fall-favorite destination in the US, with locals and tourists alike falling in love with its hustle and bustle of activities and events. The cold creeps up on you gradually, giving you time to enjoy basking in the sun and paving the way for hayrides, Halloween fun, and football games. Coffee enthusiasts are bound to be in heaven due to the variety of artisanal coffee shops everywhere and history lovers can explore indoor attractions like museums when the temperature starts falling. Oklahoma City welcomes everyone with open arms and is home to different vibrant settings of fall colors.
The Myriad Gardens, located in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City, is a magnificent 15-acre urban oasis. And while it’s open to the public all year around, there’s something about Fall that makes it stand out and look even more incredible. You can gaze in awe at its blazing red maples and glowing orange bald cypress trees. But wait, it gets better: in addition to sprawling greenery, there’s an amphitheater, children’s play area, a dog park, an ice skating rink, and a restaurant.
It’s perfect for families and individuals alike.
This relatively new family farm is a must-visit for families in Oklahoma City. It’s situated right off the 1-35 for convenience and is open from 11 am to 6 pm on Wednesdays through Saturdays. If you can only take some time out on Sundays, you can visit the farm from 1 pm to 6 pm.
You name it, Hillbilly haven has it! There are pumpkin sales, pony rides, hay rides, and swings, a John Deere tricycle course, food trucks, and of course, an Oklahoma State Fair staple-Swifty the Pig. Keeping the Coronavirus in mind, all activities are conducted outdoors with sanitizing stations extended across the farm. The food is delicious, so come for the fun, and stay for the food trucks.
Oklahoma City’s Paseo Arts District is equal parts charming and interesting. Not only does it look like a small southwestern village in the center of the city, but it also incorporates an astounding number of artists, boutiques, galleries, and restaurants. Playing the role of a living memorial to Spanish revival culture, the Paseo Arts District has made it onto the National Register of Historic Places. It exhibits fall colors even before the season starts or after it finishes. However, it glows differently in the late-season light.
