There’s nothing like Fall in Kansas City. It brings relief from the scorching heat and sweeps away the monotony of daily life. Festival season? Check. Spooky season? Check. Pumpkin patches and apple picking? Check. The city is also painted in burnt oranges, golden yellows, and toasty reds, instilling a sense of comfort. There will be so much going on around you that you’re bound to feel like you’re missing out if you don’t enjoy the pleasant outdoors with loved ones. Plan fun activities before the season kicks in so that you don’t miss out on an exciting opportunity and can collect memorable experiences that’ll last for a lifetime.
Yes, you read that right. At Kansas City’s Dogtober Fest, there are dogs of all breeds and sizes to be petted or adored from a distance. If you love dogs, you’re in for a treat, and so are they. Shake a massive box of dog biscuits while watching pooch-happy contests, workshops, and demonstrations that’ll have you squealing in delight.
Better yet, if you own a dog, sign them up for fun activities and games; it’ll only cost you $7 for the whole day. You might have to register in advance and pay a fee for some events. Still, the entire experience is worth it.

In recent years, Halloween has lost its spook factor and has become more of a holiday where people get to dress up in innovative and outrageous costumes. Well, that’s fine with Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead. Your children might get slightly spooked but never really terrified at their ‘Night of the Living Farm’ event. While the name takes on inspiration from the 1968 ‘Night of the Living Dead’ movie, which was undoubtedly disturbing, you don’t have to worry.
Your kids don’t need to know the details because the mad scientist experiments aren’t exactly insane, and the fortune teller will predict scary future occurrences on purpose. Let them have this adventure as they go. At one point, if you opt for the flashlight scavenger hunt, someone might jump out of the bushes in a goofy Frankenstein mask and attempt to chase you around. It’s all fun and games here at the Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead.
